Soldiers arrest 160 thugs in Enugu



Soldiers providing security in Enugu State for the governorship and House of Assembly elections have reportedly arrested 140 thugs with arms and ammunition in the university town of Nsukka in the Nsukka Local Government Area.
About 20 other thugs, were also, allegedly arrived from Enugu East area of the state were also reportedly arrested at Ogurute in  Igboeze North Local Government Area of the state by soldiers who arrived promptly with an armoured vehicle at the scene. 
Sources said that the hoodlums were picked up at about 7:30 am on Saturday at the popular Carolina Hotel, along Obollo Road, Nsukka, while those at Ogrute were arrested at about 9.30 pm, even as three 
hoodlums were arrested at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, office in Nsukka.
Security sources, hinted that the thugs who were arrested at Nsukka, were fully armed with weapons including AK-47 rifles and had confessed to having been deployed by the Chairman of the local government, Walter Ozioko.
The Saturday PUNCH's efforts to speak to Ozioko were unsuccessful as he could not pick up his call.
