All the major organs of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office in 2027.
Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, explained that the members of the APC in the National Assembly, endorsed President Bola Tinubu as the sole APC candidate, for 2027 , following his wisdom and performance so far, which he further noted had set the country on the path of growth and development.
"Abass declared his support on behalf of all 109 senators, 360 members of the House of Representatives, as well as the 36 state assembly speakers and their members."
The NASS endorsement followed a similar move earlier in the day by the Progressive Governors’ Forum, led by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who also declared Tinubu as the APC’s sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
Akpabio emphasized that members of the NASS and Nigerians at the grassroots were pleased with President Tinubu’s leadership, adding that the lawmakers had “never had it so good.”
Several ministers also used the occasion to highlight achievements under the current administration, despite growing concerns over persistent insecurity, including terrorism and banditry.
Tinubu, who is constitutionally eligible for a second and final term, dismissed criticism and predicted more defections from the opposition to the ruling party. “That is the game,” he said.
