2027 Presidency: El-Rufai Confirms ADC Coalition, Says Tinubu going back to Lagos
Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir el-Rufai, on Wednesday, confirmed that the plan for the opposition to adopt the African Democratic Congress, ADC, as the umbrella party to fight the President Bola Tinubu's administration in the 2027 polls.

Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir el-Rufai, on Wednesday, confirmed that the plan for the opposition to adopt the African Democratic Congress, ADC, as the umbrella party to fight the President Bola Tinubu's administration in the 2027 polls.
However, El-Rufai, said emphatically Wednesday, that Tinubu would go back to Lagos in 2027, after his defeat in the general elections.
El- Rufai now a member of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, spoke while confirming that , ADC has been adopted as the official platform of the opposition coalition, further noted that Tinubu would be outrightly defeated by members of the coalition.
"Thought we will still keep Bosun Tijani, we will still keep the minister because he is doing good work."
Earlier, it was reported that key leaders of the coalition including the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, and Peter Gregory Obi of the LP, among others had adopted ADC as the party to be used by the opposition for the election.
"They have adopted the African Democratic Party as the coalition party, all of them (Atiku, Obi, El-Rufai) are working together.
"They came to the conclusion last night up till the early hours of this morning," sources told reporters after the meeting,
held Tuesday night in Abuja.
