Before we crucify Governor Umo Eno over trending video

In 2009, His Grace, Archbishop Emmanuel Udofia was enthroned Primate of The African Church.
The first non-Yoruba person to occupy that exalted office after 119 years of its existence and counting.
But he suffered very bitter experiences through that historic tenure.
First, an internal schism and rebellion from a faction of the Church that fought vehemently to truncate what would have been his rightful 15-year tenure.
Secondly and perhaps most hurtfully, he lost his beloved wife, Lady Evangelist Ene Emmanuel at the peak of the revolt to unlawfully oust him on August 4, 2021.
His detractors cashed in on the death of his wife.
Not in sympathy or mourning but as a conduit for blackmail.
They accused Primate Udofia of sacrificing his wife for an alleged ritual to hang on to power.
That was the most devastating punch below the belt as disgruntled foes dug deep to unsettle him.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo suffered a similar fate.
The Owu-born General lost his wife, Stella on October 23, 2005.
Two years to the end of his second term and with suspicion of nursing a third term Agenda.
Gen. Obasanjo was purported to have sacrificed his wife for the power game.I could give many more instances but let these two stories suffice. There is a video trending currently.
Where Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Dr Umo Eno supposedly alleges her father sacrificed her mother, the erstwhile First Lady, Pastor Patience Umo Eno. She died on September 26, 2024, after a brief illness.A few days to the anticipated defection of Governor Umo Eno from PDP to APC, the video is widely circulated online. Ostensibly for political reasons.
The rumour merchants are brandishing the old refrain.Alleging Governor Umo Eno sacrificed his wife for power.
Balderdash!
This accusation shouldn't shock anyone.
It's common in Africa that when someone dies untimely, we rein curses on presumed masterminds who have unseen hands in the death.
We task the dead to go after them in revenge.
Most commonly, fake prophets, witchdoctors, necromancers, shamans and sorcerers have a field day.Exploiting the gullible or vulnerable from the bereaved family who seek their 'illumination' as mediums.Pronto, someone becomes a scapegoat.
Labelled as the mystery mischief-maker behind the death. This manipulated conjuring has destroyed many families. We have countless stories where sons or daughters have been manipulated to verbally assault their parents and labelling them for alleged witchcraft.
In extreme cases, some have violently ended the lives of their parents.
After being made to believe by Prophets or native doctors that their father or mother is responsible for whatever predicament they're facing.
The challenge can be infertility, barrenness, loss of job, grinding poverty, business failure, unemployment, lack of marriage and inability to japa.
...among other misfortunes of life.
The reason, I sympathise with Governor Umo Eno's beloved daughter.
Who methinks, made this video in the heat of frustrating emotions and bereavement.
Irked by the pressure of the grapevine and slanderous vibrations from gossip.
I can swear, one impostor, masquerading as a Prophet or Medium would have hijacked the mood to sow the poison in her unsuspecting heart.
This Freudian slip shouldn't be held against her.
This video is belatedly leaked again.
Long after Jane had recovered to the warmth of her beloved father.A thorough scrutiny will reveal the piper behind the tune.Life happens to all of us sometimes.
Governor Umo Eno should soldier on and ignore the noisesome pestilence that tries in futility to stalk him. Were we not told the Apostolic Church suspended and excommunicated him from its fold?
Did they not say he is a Certificate forger?
Wasn't he labelled for alleged admission racketeering?
Isn't he the same man who was purportedly expelled from the University of Uyo?
He was vindicated on all false counts and charges.
Ahitophel ensnared Absalom and tried to use him to dethrone his father, King David.
His counsel was brought to nothingness.
Those intent on using Governor Umo Eno's beloved daughter Jane.
To unhorse his political ascent will fail.
This too shall pass away.
