Again, Terrorists Kidnap Catholic Priest, 10 Others, Kill Three In Fresh Kaduna Attack

The hoodlums also, killed three other victims in the early hours, about 3.20 am, of yesterday, Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the priest’s residence.
This is coming against the backdrop of recent killing of over 100 Nigerians in Woro, Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State. promoting President Bola Tinubu to approve the deployment of an army battalion to the area and the launch of “Operation Savannah Shield,” a military initiative aimed at neutralizing the terrorists and protecting vulnerable communities in the zone.
However, Fr. Asuwaye is the parish priest of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Karku, which is under the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, in the state.
A statement by the Diocesan Chancellor, Very Rev. Fr. Jacob Shanet, PhD, noted that the terrorists invaded the community in a coordinated operation.
The three men killed by the terrorists during the attack were identified as Jacob Dan’azumi, Maitala Kaura, and Alhaji Kusari, even as others were taken away by the assailants.
The Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan expressed deep sorrow over the incident and called on priests, Christian faithful, and people of goodwill to pray for the safe and speedy release of Rev. Fr. Asuwaye and the other abducted victims.
The Catholic Church also prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives during the attack, entrusting the victims to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, while urging continued solidarity and prayers amid the worsening security situation in parts of Kaduna State.
