Two Graduates Murdered By Suspected Cultists In Bayelsa

Two graduates have been reportedly  hacked to death  in Gbarantoru Community of Yenagoa Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.
The incident was said to have occured on Thursday night when the two graduates of Niger Delta University, Amassoma, were murdered. 
One of the victims was identified as Ayaokpo Sinclair from Tombia Community, while the identity of the second victim was yet to be  confirmed as at the time of this report.
The deceased graduates were reportedly awaiting deployment by the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, at  the attack they were killed at about 11 p.m.
The Bayelsa State Police Command confirmed the incident.
State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Musa Mohammed stated that some suspects including the driver of the vehicle had been arrested adding that the State Criminal Investigation Department had launched a full investigation to apprehend the remaining suspects.
The Bayelsa State Commander of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Tolummbofa Jonathan, said the victims had stepped out to make a purchase when a group of young men arrived in the area in a vehicle, and reportedly shouted “See them!” before violently attacking them, as while chanting "aye, aye, aye." 
According to Jonathan, “One of the victims attempted to escape by jumping into a nearby creek after sustaining injuries.
“Though he swam out and was briefly rescued by the driver of the attackers’ vehicle—who claimed to be a relative—he was eventually overpowered by the cultists and fatally wounded." 
He also, noted that efforts made to revive the second victim at a local health centre were unsuccessful, even as both bodies were later deposited at the hospital vmorgue.
