Enugu Community Raises Alarm Over Attempts By Non- Natives To Impose A Traditional Ruler On Them

Enugu Community Raises Alarm Over Attempts By Non- Natives To Impose A Traditional Ruler On Them
The people of Agu- Orba Autonomous Community in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State, have raised alarm over alleged attempt by indigenous people of other communities to coronate a traditional ruler and falsely present same as if the coronation was done by the Agu- Orba community.. 
According to them, Agu- Orba is made up of Mkporogwu, Ngboroko, Bru- Amandi and Odinigbo zones.
They also, alleged that the President General of the Town Union, Mr Paulinus Nnamchi and the Councillor representing Orba Ward 2, Mr Anthony Eze, invited outsiders who were non natives of Agu- Orba and presented them to  the state Commissioner for Local Government, Rural Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, for a pre- election meeting without the knowledge of the people and urged the government to be warry of such imposters.
A petition on the issue was addressed to the Enugu State Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Rural Development and signed by 19; leaders of Agu- Orba, including the Onyishi,  His Royal Majesty, Michael Mbah, his second - in - Command, Ezeja Ugwuntu; Okechukwu Nwaegwu, Romanus Matthew Mba, Marcellus Ugwoke; Chika Odo; Kenneth Mba; Christopher Ogbodo; Francis Ozioko; Chizoba Nnadi; Chief Hillary Makata Mba and Onyemachi Odo, among others.
"Sir, we want to use this medium to bring to your notice, the sinister arrangements by some elements that are misrepresenting facts and reality on the ground at the community concerning Igwe Chieftaincy title to the Ministry.
"We learnt that a group of persons led by the President General, Agu- Orba Town Union, Mr Paulinus Nnamchi and the Councillor, representing Orba Ward 2, Hon  Anthony Eze, came to your office for pre- election meeting,  without the knowledge or consent of the community.
"Majority of those people that came to your office for that meeting are neither representatives  nor indigenous people of the community.
"Sir, it may interest you to know that in Agu- Orba Autonomous Community, two candidates picked expression of interest forms in the persons of Hillary Ikechukwu Makata of Ngboroko Agu- Orba and Kingsley Arua of Odinigbo Agu- -Orba," they added, pointing out that no other person collected the expression of interest forms, apart from the two sons of the Autonomous Community.
