Federal Government Bent On Stopping Me From Contesting 2027 Election As Presidential Candidate, Says Peter Obi
Former two- term governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in 2023, Peter Gregory Obi, has expressed concerns that the Federal Government is doing everything to prevent him from becoming the presidential candidate of any political party in the 2027 election.

Obi spoke during a 60 -minute interview on Magic FM Aba, Abia State.
He, however, described himself as the most qualified among the current presidential aspirants in the country, noting that the Federal Government’s top priority was to ensure he does not participate in the 2027 race.
His words, “The present government is bent on making sure I am not a candidate for any party.
“It is very shameful for Nigeria that the new Electoral Laws assented to by the President excluded forgery as a crime."
According to Obi, Nigeria’s economic crises and leadership challenges require the intervention of someone with experience in business and general administration.
