Dangote Slashes Petrol Price To N699/litre

Dangote Refinery has again slashed petrol price per litre from N828 to N699 (about 15.58 percent) effective December 11, 2025.

This is coming few days after Dangote Group President, Alhaji Aliko Dangote assured Nigerians that the refinery would keep fuel price "reasonable and competitive," despite global market volatility and ongoing smuggling along the country's borders
Also, the latest adjustment marks about the 20th price review by the company this year, reinforcing the refinery’s aggressive pricing strategy as the festive travel season intensifies across the country.
Senior officials of the refinery noted that they introduced the cut to ease transportation costs ahead of the yuletide, when millions of Nigerians travel across states to reunite with family.
Dangote further said that the review aligned with its "commitment to make the season memorable for citizens and reduce cost pressures on road transport operators."
After meeting President Bola Tinubu on December 6, 2025, Dangote said that domestic prices remain far below the N1,500 to N1,600 per litre, common across neighbouring countries, adding that local pump prices must continue to fall as the refinery competes directly with importers
‘Prices are going down because competition is working’, he further said, pointing out that smuggling had reduced, though not completely eliminated.
