Police Arrest Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer, Ejimakor, Others Over 1 Million- man q Protest 

The Police have reportedly arrested the lawyer to the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, Barrister Alloy Ejimakor. 

This was contained in a post on Ejimakor's X handle on Monday, noting that the police arrested him, alongside other persons participating in the protest.

His words, “We’ve just been arrested. Myself, Prince Emanuel and others. We are at FCT Command CID. Myself, Fine Boy and others. No 1 Zaria Steeet, Gariki 2, Abuja.”

Ejimakor had earlier accused the police of using teargas to disperse protesters who gathered in Abuja on Monday, pointing out that, the incident left him with irritation in his eyes and throat.

Reports indicated that the protesters converged on Monday to demand the release of Nnamdi Kanu, who has been in the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS, since June 2021.

In Enugu and other southeast states, the streets are empty as traders, civil servants and students did not venture out of their residents. The popular Eke Ozzi Market in Enugu Ezike was deserted as traders avoided the market.

The protest is part of renewed calls by his supporters for the Nigerian Government to comply with previous court rulings ordering Kanu’s release.
