President Bola Tinubu has arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the Umrah, which is a spiritual exercise involving a pilgrimage to the Holy City.
The President landed at the King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, on Thursday night. He departed Abuja for Makkah on Thursday afternoon.
He was received by the Nigerian ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Yakubu Gambo, and Saudi’s head of Royal Protocol, Ahmad bin Thafir.
The event is an opportunity for spiritual reflection, devotion, and prayers for the nation’s peace, unity, stability, and continued progress, Tinubu’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga, said in a statement on Wednesday.
According to Onanuga, the President will perform the religious rites associated with Umrah, seeking Allah’s guidance and blessings for Nigeria and its people.
He is expected back in the country next week.
