JAMB Approves 150 Marks As Minimum For Admissions Into Universities And 140 For Colleges Of Nursing Sciences ,
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has announced 150 marks as the minimum score for admission into universities for the 2025 academic session.

These were announced after JAMB’s policy meeting with stakeholders in Abuja, on Tuesday, even the board also approved 100 as the minimum cut-off mark for candidates seeking admission into polytechnics and colleges of education.
JAMB furthermore, announced the top scorers from the 2025 UTME, highlighting students who stood out in this year’s exams.
Chinedu Christian Okeke from Anambra State, who scored 375 out of 400 topped the list. Okeke chose the University of Lagos, UNILAG, to study Mechanical Engineering, and was praised for his outstanding performance.
Simon-Peter John Ayuba from Gombe State, came second with 374 marks and chose Afe Babalola University, ABUAD, for same Mechanical Engineering, while
Jimoh Abdulmalik Olayinka, from Kwara State, who emerged third with 373, also chose Mechanical Engineering at UNILAG.
The board noted that institutions were free to set their own internal cut-off marks as long as they do not go below the national minimum approved just as it reiterated that all admissions must be conducted strictly through the Central Admission Processing System, CAPS, as any admission processed outside the system would be illegal.
