DSS Re-arrests Malami After Meeting Bail Conditions.

Operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, have re-arrested and taken back to custody, the former Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, shortly after meeting his bail conditions from the Kuje Correctional Centre, Abuja.

The Federal High Court had on Wednesday, granted Malami, his wife and son bail in the sum of ₦500 million each, with two sureties in the like sum for every defendant.
However, the DSS reportedly arrested Malami  shortly after he exited the correctional centre on Monday, following alleged fresh investigation against him, asū operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission allegedly discovered arms at Malami’s country home in Kebbi State during a search operation.
Malami had earlier raised concerns about an alleged plan by the DSS to re-arrest him while he was still in custody at Kuje Prison.
A statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Mohammed Bello Doka, qouted Malami as having accused the DSS of mounting surveillance around the correctional facility with the intention of taking him back into custody.
According to the account, the former minister successfully met all bail requirements before he was re-arrested by operatives of the DSS.
