The soldiers who were escorting Gov Zulum back to the Government House in Maiduguri, died on Tuesday when their Mine Resistant Armoured Vehicle, M- RAB, somersaulted and rammed into another vehicle, killing two soldiers who were among the occupants instantly.
The driver of the vehicle who was seriously injured in the process is however in the intensive care unit of the hospital where he was rushed to.
Military sources who confirmed the sad incident said the soldiers escorted the governor to the hinterland where he spent a night on Monday and was on his way Tuesday, the accident occurred.
