Rivers State Chief Judge, Justice Chibuzor Simeon Amadi, has rejected a request from the state House of Assembly to set up a seven-member panel to probe allegations of gross misconduct against Gov Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu.
Rivers State Chief Judge, Justice Chibuzor Simeon Amadi, has rejected a request from the state House of Assembly to set up a seven-member panel to probe allegations of gross misconduct against Gov Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu.
Justice Amadi said he would not set up the Impeachment panel, following a court order which barred him from setting up such a panel.
The state House of Assembly had requested that Amadi set up a seven-member panel to probe Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu, over allegations of gross misconduct.
However, in a letter dated January 20 and addressed to the Speaker of the House, Martins Amaewhule, Justice Amadi cited two court orders barring him from receiving, forwarding, or considering any requests to form such a panel.
According to Justice Amadi, the Court orders were served on his office on January 16, 2026 and remain in force.
