The emergence of Prof. Dianabasi Eduwem as Provost-Elect, College of Health Sciences, University of Uyo (UniUyo) has elicited warm regards from his professional colleagues and classmates.
Eduwem's elevation was announced on Wednesday to members of G-74 - a group made up of Eduwem's classmates back in the years at Lutheran High School, Obot Idim, Uyo - by Prof. Orua Antia, who was also elected as the Dean, Faculty of Engineering of the university.
Antia had stated on the group's platform, "Congratulations to our brother Prof. Dianabasi Eduwem, the newly-elected Provost of the College of Health Sciences, University of Uyo."
The announcement elicited several responses from his mates, including their 'permanent' President, Engr. Idorenyin Udi, who stated: "Good news this morning. Congratulations to our erudite Prof. Greater days ahead."
Similarly, the Nigerian Medical Association(NMA), Akwa Ibom State Branch, also "warmly" congratulated Prof. Eduwem "on his emergence as Provost elect, College of Health Sciences, University of Uyo."
In a message by the Public Relations Officer, NMA, Akwa Ibom State, Dr. Gabriel Eyo, obtained by our correspondent, the group described his elevation as a "well-deserved emergence" reflecting his years of dedicated service, academic excellence, and proven leadership"
His time as Dean, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, was marked by firm guidance, institutional progress, and a strong commitment to the training of health professionals.
"We are confident that the College of Health Sciences will continue to grow and excel under his leadership, drawing from his depth of experience and clear vision for medical education and healthcare delivery.
"The Association wishes Professor Eduwem every success as he prepares to assume this important responsibility and assures him of our goodwill and support," Eyo stated.
Also, the Medical and Dental Consultants' Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH) Chapter, felicitated Eduwem over his new position.
According to Solomon Bassey, Secretary, MDCAN UUTH: "The Chairman, Executive and the entire family of MDCAN UUTH, heartily felicitate with our distinguished member Professor Dianabasi Eduwem, Professor of Radiology, Dean, Faculty of Clinical Sciences and Chairman, Committee of Deans, University of Uyo on his election as the Provost-elect of the College of Health Sciences, University of Uyo."
"Sir, we celebrate your well-deserved elevation. This is a testament to your impressive stewardship of the Faculty of Clinical Sciences.
"We do not doubt that you will excel in this role and we wish you a successful and rewarding tenure as Provost! May your leadership bring prosperity, and unparalleled success to the college community.
"Congratulations once again!"
The groups also beseeched God to grant Eduwem the mercy and wisdom to carry out assigned tasks satisfactorily in his new office.
