...As country gets only 3 votes, with Ghana, Burundi recording 179; 168 votes respectively
The United Nations, UN, has said that Nigeria is not qualified for a position in its Human Rights Council, even as it accepted Ghana and Burundi as new members.
Apparently dissatisfied with the country's poor human rights record, only three members of the council voted for Nigeria's membership but Ghana and Burundi got 179 and 168:votes respectively.
Also, Malawi got 182 votes; and Côte d’Ivoire 181 votes to be re-elected for second terms.
In what appeared to be a disgraceful outing, Nigeria garnered only three miserable votes, apparently from countries with similar poor rights records.
