Primate Ayodele Denies Power Minister's N150 million Extortion Claim

Leader of the Evangelical Spiritual Church, ESC, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has denied claims by Power Minister, Adebayo Adelabu, that he demanded money from him to make him Oyo State governor.
Adelabu, had reportedly petitioned the Department of State Services, DSS, claiming that Primate Ayodele asked him for N150 million over alleged "spiritual intercession," but the cleric denied the allegation, in an interview with reporters.
He said, rather, that it was Adelabu who indeed approached him first for spiritual help.
“He sent emissaries to me because he was desperate to become Oyo governor. I didn’t blackmail him. We didn’t have any transaction. And no money was exchanged between us,” Ayodele said, pointing out however, that, he discussed some terms with Adelabu regarding the process for the spiritual assistance sought, but he didn’t agree with the terms “and it ended there.”
“I made no attempt to extort him. If he didn’t believe in what I do? Why did he come to someone he claims is dishing out fake prophesies?,” Ayodele further added
