The Presidency has told the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Fr Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, that "President Bola Tinubu is an accidental leader," adding that the president was well-prepared for the job he was voted for.
The presidency was reacting to Kukah’s remarks that Tinubu and others before him were accidental leaders who came into office through different circumstances.
However, in its reaction, the Presidency noted that Tinubu was a reformer whose leadership was already impacting various aspects of the country's economy.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, spoke in a statement on Monday.
His words, “He (Tinubu) is not an accidental leader, he is doing his best to ensure that we have a turn around in this country.”
Bishop Kukah had describes Buhari, Tinubu, Goodluck Jonathan as well as other Nigerian leaders as “accidental,”
adding that they were all products of an “accidental leadership cycle."
