There was pandemonium in Abuja on Monday, when the police invaded a rally by over economic hardship and fired tear-gas canisters  to scar the crowd, leading to panic, as both the organisers and another police station by elected scampered for their dear lives.
Chaos erupted at the venue of the event when operatives of the Nigeria Police Force arrested two protesters soon after firing tear gas canisters at the growing crowd of  demonstrators  in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, triggering panic and  forcing protesters and journalists covering the event to flee for safety.
It was learnt that the two protesters were chased and apprehended by the police. The protest leader, Rex Elanu, said those arrested included ya protest leader in Abuja identified as Flag-boy  and another female, simply identified as Bosede.

The demonstrators noted that their   "protest was violently dispersed," adding that "both Bosede and Flagboy had been arrested."
According to them, "⁵Flag boy is the one you saw carrying the Nigerian flag,” 
The protest is part of a nationwide movement highlighting economic hardship, alleged repression, and rising insecurity across the country. 
It also, marked part of a nationwide demonstration organized by the Take-It-Back Movement in collaboration with several civil society organizations, which coincided with the National Police Day 
The demonstrators, including human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore; carried placards with inscriptions like “Stop the Repression” and “Let Us Breathe,” in a bid to draw attention to what the organizers described as a growing wave of authoritarianism under the President Bola Tinubu administration.
National Coordinator of the Take-It-Back Movement, Juwon Sanyaolu, who led the mobilisation, stressed the key issues fueling the agitation adding that they included soaring inflation, nationwide insecurity, and the declaration of state of emergency in Rivers States among others.
