ABUJA — The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has dismissed reports claiming it has no governorship candidates in 12 states for the 2027 elections, insisting the party has duly nominated flag-bearers for all 28 states where polls will hold.
The party described the reports not only as “false, malicious, a lie from the pit of hell” as well as an attempt to undermine its growing momentum nationwide.
National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director Esq, who signed the statement said the NDC remains a national movement with structures and candidates in all 36 states and the FCT.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the NDC has duly nominated and has governorship candidates in all the 28 states where governorship elections will take place in 2027.
“Our party is fully prepared, fully structured, and fully on ground in every state of the federation. The NDC is not a regional party. We are a national movement with candidates, structures, and supporters in all 36 states and the FCT,” Director said.

Call For Media Verification

The NDC urged media houses, journalists, bloggers and content creators to verify information before publishing, warning that peddling unverified propaganda erodes public trust in the media and in democracy.
“Journalism thrives on truth, not rumors,” the statement said. “The NDC remains committed to issue-based politics. We will not be distracted by sponsored falsehoods.”

“The Rescue Mission Has Started

The party said Nigerians are “tired of the old order” and “tired of recycled failures,” positioning the NDC as the alternative to rescue the country in 2027.
“With credible candidates, a clear manifesto, and a commitment to security, jobs, and accountability, we are ready to rescue and rebuild this nation in 2027,” Director stated.
He called on Nigerians to join the movement, adding: “The rescue mission has started.”
