Nigerian Catholic Laity Council Joins Bishops In Condemning Worsening Insecurity, Demands Protection
The Catholic Laity Council of Nigeria, CLCN, has joined the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Nigeria, CBCN, in condemning the worsening security situation across the country, particularly in the Northern and Middle Belt regions.

The statement was jointly signed by the National President of CLCN, Sir Ambrose Obioha and the Secretary-General,Mr. Francis Ojo Olayinka.
“We deeply appreciate their unwavering commitment to peace and justice,” the group said.
CLCN also welcomed the presence of a US-based fact-finding team, noting their role in bringing international attention to the escalating security challenges in Nigeria.
“We condemn the senseless violence and bloodshed that have desecrated our common humanity.
“We stand in solidarity with our Christian brothers and sisters, and all innocent citizens who have fallen victim to these atrocities,” the group added.
The council called on the government to act urgently and decisively to safeguard the lives and property of all citizens.
It urged authorities to “to take immediate and concrete actions to address the security crisis,” emphasizing that the protection of Nigerians must remain a top priority.
In addition, CLCN appealed to all Nigerians to reject violence and hatred by promoting unity and peaceful coexistence.
“We are for peace and brotherly living,” they concluded.
