Labour Party Leader, Peter Obi Denies Arrest Rumours
Former governor of Anambra State and  Labour Party presidential candidate in 2023, Peter Obi, has dismissed rumours of his purported arrest, describing them as  unfounded and deceptive.
Obi  spoke through the social media on Wednesday evening noting that the rumours of arrest were untrue even as he was at his residence in Onitsha.
He, then asked his supporters and the public to ignore the misinformation.
Obi’s statement is coming against the backdrop of ongoing controversy with the ruling All Progressives Congress's APC's, Felix Morka, over recent allegations of death threats following Obi’s critical New Year message.
The LP leader referred to similar false reports in 2024, when he was falsely accused of being arrested and detained by the Department of State Services, DSS,  even while he was  in Rwanda, adding that
describing such recurring falsehoods as deliberate attempts to divert attention from the nation’s pressing issues.
He stressed his commitment to addressing matters of national interest and encouraged Nigerians to remain focused on advocating for progress and good governance.
Earlier, the APC’s Morka had taken Peter Obi to task with his strong denunciation of the assertions of death threats directed at the Labour Party leader who he had previously accused of crossing the line.
