UNIUYO's Professor Uduk, Jailed 3 Years For Electoral Fraud
An Akwa- Ibom State High Court sitting in Uyo, the state capital, has sentenced a university Professor, Ignatius Uduk, to three years imprisonment over electoral fraud during the 2019 elections.

An Akwa- Ibom State High Court sitting in Uyo, the state capital, has sentenced a university Professor, Ignatius Uduk, to three years imprisonment over electoral fraud during the 2019 elections.
Uduk, of the University of Uyo, UNIUYO, was tried on a three-count charge preferred against him by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The court presided over by Justice Basset Nkanang of Uyo High Court 5, acquitted Uduk, a professor of Human Kinetics on Count one but found him guilty on counts two and three, even as the sentences are to run concurrently.
Earlier, another UNIUYO academic, Professor Peter Ogban, was also convicted and sentenced to three years imprisonment in the trial which began in 2019 for offenses related to the same elections. (Vanguard: Excluding Headline)
