Obi spoke at a news conference, Thursday in Abuja on the state of the nation.
According to Obi, no agreement has been reached with other parties yet on the issue of merger for 2027 polls, adding however, that lovers of Nigeria in the political space must come together in 2027 and defeat the All Progressives Congress, APC, which he accused of mismanaging the country’s resources.
Obi further spoke on the security situation in the country describing the situation as unfortunate. He also noted that Nigerians die needlessly due to kidnapping, banditry and terrorism among other vices for ransom.
He further noted that the level of corruption in the country remained high adding that the cost of governance which has led to an astronomical increase in public debt under the current administration of President Bola Tinubu- led APC was worrisome, even as government officials willfully mismanaged public funds in 2024 through incessant foreign travels.
