Peter Obi Won Rivers State In 2023 Elections, The Results Were Changed, Amaechi Says
Amaechi stated this while speaking during an X Space discussion on Saturday
Former Governor of Rivers State as well as
Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has said that the Labour Party, LP, candidate Peter Obi won the 2023 presidential election in Rivers State.
Amaechi, however, alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, changed the results in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which came third in the election.
The former minister spoke through his tX Space on Saturday.
His words, "I can agree with you to some extent that Obi won Rivers State.
“But I don’t know how the results were changed.”
Amaechi’s comments add another twist to the controversy over the outcome of the February 2023 election.
The INEC announced President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the winner of the election with
231,591 votes in Rivers State, while LP polled 175,071 votes.
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, finished third with 88,468 votes.
