The Chairman of the Police Service Commission, PSC, DIG Hashimu Argungu, rtd, has urged Nigerians to renew their hope in the country's greatness as the people marked the nation's 64th independence anniversary on October 1.
Argungu particularly demanded patriotism and sacrifice from staff of the commission and police officers, noting that Nigeria was rich in both human and material resources.
He further admonished both the civilian staff of the commission and police officers to have a sense of pride as "you belong to a great and promising nation."
These were contained in a statement signed by the Head, Press and Public Relations Unit of the PSC, Mr Ikechukwu Ani, on Monday.
According to Ani, the PSC Chairman noted that Nigerians should remember the sacrifices of "our heroes past and renew our faith in a united and progressive nation bound by love and oneness, a nation with limitless opportunities and possibilities," even as Nigerians have no reason to despair insisting since the nation was on the rise again.
"We should in unity support Mr. President as he works to reposition and re- engineer our country out of the current economic challenges,"' he added, noting that, "there is already light at the end of the tunnel," even as all Nigerians needed now was unflinching commitment and sincere patriotism.
