Oshiomhole Alleges Natasha Akpoti's Suspension Report Was Forged

Former governor of Edo State and senator representing Edo North District, Adams Oshiomhole, has said that the report that led to the six-month suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, included names of lawmakers who did actually sign it.
However, Oshiomhole spoke while reacting to comments by Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, who described the suspension of the Kogi Central senator as one of the lowest moments of the 10th Senate.
“People like Senator Ireti Kingibe. She told me, ‘But I didn’t sign that report. But my name was published.
“So, where many don’t accept the content, they could abstain from signing it because to sign is to endorse. One, two or three senators said, ‘We didn’t sign, but our names were there.”
Oshiomhole further stressed that instead of proper signatures, an attendance list may have been used to show support for the report, a practice he described as wrong, noting that signing a report was meant to show clear agreement with its content.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended in March 2025 over alleged gross misconduct and unruly behaviour, following her repeated sexual demand allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Following the suspension, Natasha was barred from entering the National Assembly complex, even as her salary and allowances were stopped, and her office also sealed.
