One Soldier Killed, 5 Others Wounded As Troops Battle ISWAP Terrorists In Borno

One soldiers was killed while five others were seriously wounded when troops into an ambush of ISWAP terrorists at Awulari in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State on Saturday night.
The incident reportedly occured at about 2am when there was a attack on soldiers by ISWAP at Awulari and a reinforcement was sent to beef up security in the area.
However, as troops were going tfor the reeinforcement, they reportedly got into the enemy's Improvised explosive device, IED, that destroyed their Hilux Vehicle, killing one officer and seriously wounding five others.

A resident of Awulari who confirmed the incident said that, "One soldier was actually dead," the troops of 21SAB of Division 7 of the Nigerian Army, later fought a good fight and repelled the attackers in the early hours of Saturday, February 8, 2025. Military sources told reporters inaiduguri, the state capital, that they repelled an ISWAP attack on one of the location at Awulari.
According to the sources, "The attack was successfully repelled although five soldiers got wounded during the incident. Thanks to the gallant officers of the Nigeria army."
