His words, “On March 25, 2025, at about 3:00 a.m., the command received a distress call reporting an armed robbery incident at a residential area behind the stadium in Keffi.
“Upon receiving the report, the Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro-Mohammed immediately ordered operatives to track and pursue the fleeing suspects.
“The robbers escaped before police arrival, but officers strategically monitored their suspected escape route."
According to Nansel, the robbers had a fatal accident while trying to escape, at Bola Junction along the Keffi-Abuja Expressway, even as police operatives from Goshen City Division quickly took the five robbers to Johepz Medical Centre, Kuchika, for urgent treatment.
“Unfortunately, four were confirmed dead by a doctor, while the surviving suspect is receiving treatment under police watch,” he added, pointing out that investigations showed that the stolen Toyota Camry belonged to a resident named Emeka Udochi, who lives behind the stadium in Keffi.
The police recovered several items from the suspects, including charms, two long knives, screwdrivers, many wristwatches, and twelve different mobile phones.
Hansel, then advised the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activities or movements to the nearest police station for quick action.
