Celebrations As Enugu North Zonal Neighbourhood Watch Commander, Chief Anselem Odo Bags Award of Excellence On Security Matters

It was celebration galore Tuesday, at Igbo-Eze North Council Secretariat, following the presentation of an Award of Excellence on Security Matters to the Commander Neighbourhood Watch, Igbo-Eze North Chapter, Chief Anselem Odo, popularly known as Ezemuo.
Commander Odo, who hails from Imufu Community in Enugu-Ezike has contributed his quota to the nation, having served in the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, where he retired as Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP, after serving meritoriously for years ago.
Odo, is also, the Zonal Commander, Neighbourhood Watch, Enugu North Senatorial District.
He was, however, appointed to head Neighborhood Watch, Igbo-Eze North Chapter, around late 2020, by the immediate Chairman of Igbo-Eze North Council/ Current state Financial Secretary, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Hon. Williams Ejike Itodo, following the brutal murder of his predecessor, Chinedu Urana, by non -state actors.
Odo''s appointment followed his track- records in the police where he fought violent crimes in various parts of Anambra and Delta States as well as Abuja among several other parts of the country, while serving as policeman. The commander
showed resilience, focus and unwavering commitment to his job while serving as a police officer.
He distinguished himself among equals through his proactive actions in combating crimes, protecting lives and properties, wherever he was posted.
Commander Odo, particularly, played a leading role in restoring peace and normalcy in the state following the period of insecurity, especially in Igboeze North and Nsukka (Enugu North) Senatorial zone.
Presenting the award to the illustrious son of Enugu-Ezike, Commander Anselem Odo, the operation manager, Dtv, Mr. Lawrence Donatus, who led the delegation from their headquarters in Abuja, noted that their mission was to recognize and decorate the recipient with his deserved award for his immense contribution on security matters within Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area and beyond.
"In recognition of your selfless services to humanity as well as your immense contributions to protecting lives properties within Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area and Enugu state at large, we present this award to you," Lawrence stated.
Responding, Commander Odo thanked the Mr. Lawrence and his team for the honour bestowed upon him and dedicated his triumph to God and Prince Williams Ejike Itodo.
His words, "I am elated today for this singular honour bestowed on me by Dtv. With this and some other things I have experienced in life, I have come to the conclusion that good work pays.
"My regards to Hon. Ejike Itodo, who found me worthy to serve in this capacity. I also thank the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubisi Mbah and the commissioner for Human Capital Development and Poverty Reduction, Hon. Malachy Agbo for providing an enabling environment for me to excel.
"May I also use this medium to once more congratulate Hon. Engr. Uchenna Ogalla, Chairman-Elect, Igbo-Eze North Council for his victory at the polls. It is incumbent on me to appreciate my wife for her overwhelming assistance. I dedicate all these to God and Prince Engr. Ejike Itodo."
