The police have arrested a 34- year man, Emmanuel  Nwokpoku, over alleged kidnapping activities and armed robbery.
Nwokpoku was arrested in Anambra State after collecting N15 million ransom from his victim. 
He had alongside, members of his gang allegedly kidnapped a victim and collected the said ransom.
These were contained in a statement on Sunday the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Tochukwu Ikenga.
Ikenga noted that the kidnapped victim’s red coloured Mercedes Benz GLE 450 was also, recovered from the suspect, adding that the police were on the trail of other gang members, especially the ring leader who was simply identified as ‘Ebuka.’
Ikenga's statement read in part, “The Anambra State Police Command has in custody one Nwokpoku Emmanuel, 34,  from Ebonyi State, living in Oduke-Obosi over a case of armed robbery and kidnapping.
“The operatives also recovered from the suspect, the victim’s red coloured Mercedes Benz GLE 450 and activated a plan to arrest other gang members, especially the leader known as Ebuka.
“Information revealed that the victim was kidnapped in a neighbouring state and was later released after a ransom of N15m was collected. The abductors made away with his vehicle before it was tracked and recovered at MCC Junction, Onitsha.”
