APC Chieftain Calls For Expedited Action Over Revalidation, Registration Of Old, New Party Members

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Enugu State, Ambassador Simon Ejike Eze has called for expedited action over the revalidation and registration of new members of the party across the country.

The party chieftain spoke while addressing a huge crowd of party supporters who witnessed the activated registration and revalidation exercise at Echara/Isiagu Ward of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of the state, Monday.

Ambassador Eze was the senatorial candidate of the party in the 2023 election for Enugu North Senatorial District which was later won by late Chief Okay Ezea of the Labour Party then.

He advised party faithful to take the digital registration exercise seriously, noting that with the members’ database now being fully computerized, there would be no argument as to who is a member of the party, adding that with APC as a national party, digitalization of the party’s register was the best thing that has happened to the party.

According to him, this was the first time APC was headed by an eminent professor even as such, beautiful changes and innovations were expected to add value to the party.

On whether he was registering afresh, Ambassador Eze explained jike explained that what he did was mere revalidation of his membership of the APC having registered since 2021.

His words, “In 2021, I registered at Otobo Umuela Hall in the presence of great personalities including Senator Jonathan Ziwigina among others, noting that with the coming on board of the Enugu State governor, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah, we are now so many on ground, hence victory is assured."

Commenting on the loss of Senator Ezea, and whether there was any plan to glide into his shoes Ambassador Eze noted that the late senator was a close friend and more like a brother.

"As such, it is too early for such speculation. APC is no longer a party on the sidelines in Enugu State, with the Executive Governor of the state, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah as a member and of course, the leader in the state. We will have all our ears on the ground to follow his body language. It is his right to decide where I should go. If he should decide otherwise, my duty will be to follow my party’s directive.

Other members of the party were on ground to witness the continuation of the registration exercise included the zonal, ward and youth leaders among others.
