The African Democratic Party (ADC) has denied reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, refused its application to recognise the new leadership of the party, describing such reports as tissue of lies.
The Interim National Publicity Secretary of the party, Alhaji Bolaji Abdullahi, who spoke through his X page, noted that the reports which stated that INEC had refused to recognise the interim chairman of the party, David Mark and other interim leaders were untrue.
Abdullahi called on the public to ignore the story, adding, “The attention of ADC has been drawn to a story circulating that the @inecnigeria has refused to recognise the new leadership of our party under the Distinguished Senator David Mark.
“This story is entirely false and should be ignored. We urge Nigerian people to ignore such misleading reports from any quarters and stay focused on mobilising the long-suffering people of Nigeria for the great task to save our dear country."
The former leadership of the ADC, led by Raph Nwosu, had announced that the party had handed over to David Mark.
Mark was appointed interim national chairman with Rauf Aregbesola as interim national secretary, alongside other members of the ADC following its adoption as the coalition party.
