PDP To Join National Coalition To Oust APC
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Jigawa State says it will now join the national opposition coalition aimed at sacking the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2027 general elections.

State Chairman of the PDP Coalition Coordinating Committee, Dr. Aminu Abdullahi Taura, spoke during the inauguration of the 27 local government coordinating committees in Dutse, the state capital.
Dr. Taura also, revealed that key national party leaders, including former Governor Sule Lamido, were already in Abuja holding talks with other stakeholders in the coalition, pointing out, that the party had concluded consultations and resolved to be part of the coalition, currently being formed by opposition leaders across the country, even as disgruntled members of the APC are expected to join the coalition.
His words, "The PDP in Jigawa State is getting itself ready to join the coalition.
“After all consultations and discussions, we resolved and agreed to join the coalition for the sake of Nigeria and Nigerians — to work together and end the current APC government, and to restore lost national security, peace, unity, and stability...

“Everyone in the PDP, as the main opposition party, was involved. And we are optimistic that many others from even within the ruling APC will join our movement. We have ultimate hope to succeed in unseating President Bola Tinubu and all other bad leaders under APC — God willing.”
According to him, following the development, the party inaugurated a state coordinating committee under his leadership and had now replicated the setting up of same structures at the local government level.
“These local government committees have been mandated to move down to the ward and polling unit levels to form solid grassroots structures that will be ready to mobilise into the coalition when the time comes.

“Presently, there is an ongoing meeting between our leaders and those of the coalition group in Abuja. Our leader, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has been there since Monday, helping to form a solid movement that can confront the APC.
Taura further expressed confidence that the coalition would attract support even from disgruntled APC members and ultimately succeed in removing Tinubu and the APC administration in 2027.and appealed to the party faithful to remain calm and united as plans intensified to firm up the coalition arrangements, just as he commended the PDP members and other political allies for their patience and steadfastness, noting, “I therefore call on all members of our great party, PDP, in the state to remain calm and united. Victory is on our side. Let us wait for the next line of action.”
