Update On Late Hon Justice Azuka: Two More Decomposed Corpses Found At 2nd Niger Bridge

Two more decomposed bodies including those of a man and woman, have been found at the 2nd Niger Bridge, about three days after the decomposed corpse of the kidnapped Anambra State lawmaker, Hon Justice Azuka alongside three others were found at the swamp of the bridge.

The five decomposed corpses were found by a combined team of security agencies including the personnel of the Anambra State Annti- Touting and Agunechemba Security Squads.
The sources noted that the two new corpses found have their skulls already severed from their decomposed bodies.
Sources close to the security team noted that the decomposed bodies belonged to suspected victims of Kidnapping who may have either been killed by their abductors for not paying ransom or killed after ransoms might have been received.
The security sources said that the combined team of security operatives found bullet holes on the bodies of the two new victims, even as expended cartltrages of pump action guns were discovered near the bodies,  suggesting that they could have been shot by their abductors
The second Niger Bridge connects Asaba, the Delta State capital with Anambra State through Oba, Akwa Ukwu and Ozubulu in both Idemili South and Ekwusigo local government areas which also, link the Onitsha – Owerri express way.
The bridge has massive swamp due to its link with both the River Niger and Idemili river with mangrove trees on both sides of the bridge.
There had been several reported cases of car snatching, armed robbery and kidnap of unsuspecting members of the public along the dreaded area due to loneliness of the particular areas of the bridge, which provide cover for criminals who vandalize the iron linkages of the bridge even as security operatives have arrested many of those vandals in the past.
The Anambra Police Command had only last year, arrested four persons in connection with the vandalization of materials used in the construction of the new  second Niger Bridge, with items including six leaner expansivity breaker tools for the ripping off of those irons, recovered from then.
