The troops in the early hours of the day launched simultaneous air and ground attacks on the strongholds of the terrorists,
killing two of their commanders..
The terrorists were attacked in Nzalgana, Gujba Local Government Area, and the Tumbuktu Triangle, resulting in significant casualties among terrorists and their leaders.
Among the notable terrorists who were killed included a top Commander in Ngorogore and Malumti Villages, Ameer Malam Jidda.
Another fierce battle also raged between the troops and terrorists in their stronghold at Abadam, where more bodies of the insurgents were recovered.
A resident of the area who spoke said, "In
the early hours of today, June 9, 2025, troops of Operation Hadin Kai launched simultaneous air and ground attacks on Boko Haram/ISWAP strongholds in Nzalgana, Gujba Local Government Area, and the Tumbuktu Triangle, resulting in significant casualties among terrorists and their leaders.
"Notably, Ameer Malam Jidda, a top commander in Ngorgore, Malumti and Mallamfatori Villages, was neutralized, even as additional bodies of neutralised terrorists and weapons were recovered in Abadam.
"The troops seized sophisticated weapons from Abadam, following the recent military operation in the area. They are still recovering the dead bodies of the insurgents and it is difficult to estimate the number of casualties at this stage," the source said when asked to comment on the figure.
