The misunderstanding between President Bola Tinubu and his political son, Babajide Sanwo- Olu, governor of Lagos State, has been settled, even as Tinubu has forgiven the governor of his sins.
Tinubu forgave Sanwo-Olu of his sins against him on Sunday.
There had been media reports of widening gulf between Tinubu and Sanwo -Olu, climaxing in the snubbing of the governor by the president at an official event in Lagos State last week.
Their beef was linked to the removal of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Obasa, who is believed to be in Tinubu’s good books.
However, the dispute between father and son was settled by the Governor’s Advisory Council, GAC, which took Sanwo- Olu to Mr President on Sunday and after the interface, President Tinubu said he was no longer angry with him.
They also appealed for forgiveness for other individuals who may have offended Tinubu.
GAC chairman Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi who spoke, stated that he was aware Tinubu had been displeased with certain individuals in the state, particularly the governor, but Olusi personally appealed to the president for mercy.
Responding later, Tinubu said, “It’s all over now. All is forgiven."
The president further assured that he was no longer displeased with anyone in the room, including Sanwo-Olu, following which the governor and other GAC members prostrated before the president in a gesture of remorse and appeasement.
But, commenting on the outcome of the meeting, the governor told reporters that, "There is nothing at all; he is my father, he is my leader, and we're grateful that he has given us audience today.”
