The Lagos State House of Assembly, has impeached it's long serving Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, over allegations of abuse of office and gross misconduct.
The house has also, elected Hon Mojisola Meranda as new Speaker in a major twist in Lagos politics.
The new speaker represents Apapa I state constituency in the assembly.
Obasa is said to be eyeing the governorship position which President Bola Tinubu's son, Seyi is also alleged to be eyeing and has received the endorsement of some power brokers in the state.
