The family residence of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in Obeiba-Ihima, at Okehi

Local Government Area of Kogi State.was on Tuesday, April 16, attacked by some
unidentified gunmen suspected to be assasins.
According to a security analyst, Zagazola Makama, the armed assailants, wielding guns and cutlasses, launched the attack at around 1:00 a.m., causing structural damage to the building, including shattered windows.
The incident is coming against the backdrop of heightened tensions over  Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, rancour with political leaders following her accusations against them for allegedly colluding with the former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello and the Senate President Godswill Akpabio to harass and intimidate her.
Akpoti- Udeaghan had earlier accused Akpabio of sexual harassment against her.
The Chief Security Officer, CSO, to Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, Yakubu Ovanja, promptly notified local law enforcement authorities following the incident, with a team of policemen from the Okehi Division responding swiftly and arriving the scene shortly after, even as the assailants had left.
No arrests or casualties were recorded as at the time of this report but  security operatives have begun investigations into the motive and identity of the attackers.

Both Yahaya Bello and Akpabio have since denied the allegation and petitioned the police demanding Natasha’s prosecution for alleged defamation.
Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central in the National Assembly, has not yet made any public statement over the attack, but the authorities said investigations had commenced to unravel those behind  the latest development.
