Gov Radda Postpones Buhari's Burial Till Today in Daura
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State, has officially slated the funeral of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari to, Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State, has officially postponed the funeral of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari to Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
Radda made this known during a media briefing shortly after his return to Nigeria from the United Kingdom.
He told reporters in Daura, Buhari’s hometown, that the funeral prayer (janaza) for Buhari would now hold by 2:00 pm on Today, in Daura, Katsina State.
According to Radda, “The janaza prayer of our father, leader, and former President, Muhammadu Buhari, has been shifted toTuesday, July 15, at exactly 2:00 pm here in Daura.”
He further said that the postponement was necessary to allow the arrival of dignitaries, family members, and other well-wishers from within and outside the country who wish to pay their final respects, pointing out that arrangements had been completed to ensure a smooth and dignified burial ceremony for the former president, whom he noted was “a true patriot and statesman who served Nigeria with honor and integrity.”
Late Buhari passed away in a London hospital, following a protracted illness, sparking an outpouring of tributes from across Nigeria and the international community.
The Katsina State Government and the Buhari family have since opened a condolence register in Daura, Abuja, and at Nigeria’s foreign missions, even as
security has been tightened in and around Daura in preparation for the burial ceremony, expected to draw a large crowd of mourners, including top government officials, diplomats, and members of the public.
