Former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and one-time minister of agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbe, is dead.

Former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and one-time minister of agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbe, is dead.
Ogbe was said to have died peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, according to a terse statement by the family.
“He departed peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, service and dedication to our nation and community. We are comforted by the many lives he touched and the examples he set,” the statement noted.
Ggbe served as the PDP Chairman during the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, from 2001 to January 2005.
An indigene of Oturkpo in Benue State, Ogbeh was born on July 28, 1947. He was a farmer and politician who served the country as the minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
He also, had earlier served as the minister of Communications in the second republic government of late President Shehu Shagari, for a brief period.
His burial arrangements are yet to be released.
