FG Files Slams Criminal Charges Against Akpoti-Uduaghan Over Her Case With Senate President Akpabio
The Federal Government may have filed criminal charges against the Senator representing the Kogi Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, following her sex harassment case against the Senate President, God's will Akpabio.

The suit was reportedly filed before a Federal Capital Territory High Court on May 16, 2025.
In the charge number C/297/2025, the Federal Government accused Natasha of allegedly “making imputation knowing or having reason to believe that such imputation will harm the reputation of a person (Anpabio),” citing Section 391 of the penal code, CAP 89, laws of the federation, 1990., punishable under Section 392 of the same law.
The Sun gathered that the list of witnesses include the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio and former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello.
Natasha's troubles began earlier this year when she fought back against a Senate seating reassignment, with her defiance leading to a six-month suspension by the 10th Senate, a decision that drew criticism from many Nigerians who argued she was not given a fair hearing.
Natasha’s subsequent statements at various interviews may have heightened tensions.
She had accused Akpabio of sexual harassment and reiterated claims of an assassination plot involving both Akpabio and Yahaya Bello.
The Kogi State Government had dismissed the allegations as “malicious falsehoods,” while Akpabio labeled her claims as baseless.
