Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Minister, Chief Nyesom Wike, has revoked 762 plots of land in Abuja, including those belonging to former President Muhammadu Buhari, ex- governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, Senator Dino Melaye, as well as ex-governors Ben Ayade, and Seriake Dickson.

Wike cited failure to pay for Certificates of Occupancy, C-of-O, as some of the reasons for his action.
The affected properties, located in the upscale Maitama 1 District of the federal capital, are owned by prominent Nigerians and corporate organizations.
Other notable individuals whose plots were revoked included serving and former federal lawmakers, like Enyinnaya Abaribe, and Abdul Ningi.
Wike further issued a two-week ultimatum to 614 other individuals and entities to settle outstanding fees or risk losing their Rights of Occupancy, R-of-O.
The notice further read, “The FCT Administration wishes to inform the allottee (s)/title holder (s) of plots of land in Maitama 1 who have failed to make payment for their Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) bills after the expiration of grace period granted by the Honourable Minister, Federal Capital Territory that their Right of Occupancy to the land/property have been withdrawn, pursuant to the provisions of Section 28 of the Land Use Act of 1978 for contravention of the terms of grant which obligated the title/interest holders to settle all bills."
