Enugu Queries Teachers Who Failed To Attend APC Endorsement Rally For Peter Mbah 's Re-election

...Teachers given 48 hours to explain reasons for absence

The Igbo-Etiti Local Government Education Authority, Enugu State, has reportedly queried some public school teachers over their failure to attend a rally organised in support of Governor Peter Mbah’s second-term endorsement.
The rally, which took place on October 10, 2026, at Okpara Square in Enugu, was described by the education authorities in the 17 local governments in the state as a mandatory event for teaching staff under their jurisdictions.
Teachers in public schools  mandated to attend the rally with local government chairman mobilizing adequate buses for for easy evacuation from local government headquarters. Some of the teachers were paid N4000 each for feeding while others received Governor Mbah's campaign vests
However, the Igbo Etiti Education board in its query asked the absentee teachers to explain reasons why they failed to attend the rally despite earlier circulars directing them to participate.
Those queried by the authority were accused of insubordination for being absent without official permission.
The affected teachers were given 48 hours from the time they received the letters to explain in writing why disciplinary action should not be taken against them for allegedly failing to comply with the directive.
