The senior military officer was kidnapped around the Matazu area of Katsina State while on his way to attend a wedding ceremony.
Already, the Katsina State Government has confirmed the development in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasiru Mu’azu, weekend.
According to Mu'azu, Rabe died from complications arising from diabetes and hypertension.
“The deceased retired general died a natural death from complications of diabetes and hypertension,” the Commissioner noted.
Meanwhile, the Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has expressed deep condolences to the family of the deceased, characterizing the incident as a dark moment that highlights the ongoing need for intensified operations against criminal elements.
Radda reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to collaborating with the Federal Government and security agencies to ensure the perpetrators of the heinous crime are brought to justice, and assured residents that his administration remained resolute in its determination to eliminate banditry and protect lives and property across the state.
