33 New Doctors Take Hippocrattics Oath At Enugu State University of Science and Technology

The Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT, has graduated 33 new doctors. The new doctors were inducted at the ESUT Teaching Hospital, Parklane, Enugu on Thursday. Eighty nine student doctors were to sit for the final examinations but only 33 of them were successful while 56 could not.

33 New Doctors Take Hippocrattics Oath At Enugu State University of Science and Technology

The Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT, has graduated 33 new doctors. The new doctors were inducted at the ESUT Teaching Hospital, Parklane, Enugu on Thursday.
Eighty nine student doctors were to sit for the final examinations but only 33 of them were successful while 56 could not.
Speaking on the occasion, the Provost of the College of Medicine, ESUT, Professor Uchenna Ekwochi, said that the college which was accredited by both the National Universities Commission, NUC, and the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, MDCN, in 2010, has so far, graduated 15 sets of doctors since then.
According to Prof Ekeochi, "the College was a one Faculty College until 2015...with Professor Chike Anibeze as the pioneer Dean and Dr C.G.J.Orjioke as the Dean of the Faculty of Clinical Medicine," but now offers BSC and Postgraduate Degrees in Anatomy, Physiology and Biomedical Engineering."
Ekwochi further said that the "are College is presently made of four faculties including Clinical Medicine, Basic Clinical Sciences, Basic Medical Sciences and Allied Health Sciences, hosting the Medical Laboratory Sciences and Nursing Sciences," adding that it was poised to ensure the continued training of medical doctors who can stand the challenges in academics, research and innovative cutting edge technology in specialized and general health care delivery, both within and outside the shores of the country.
"The MBBS Programme had a very successful re-accreditation by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria with increment in training quota from 50 to 120 and subsequently to 240 through the ministerial directives...," he added.
The Registrar of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, Dr Fatima Kyari, who was represented on the occasion, urged the new doctors to be professional in their dealings with their patients by being exercising patience, diligent and humane.
