2027: Ex- Gov Faayose Says Peter Obi Now Voice Of Opposition, Not Atiku

Former governor of Ekiti State, Peter Ayodele Fayose, has said that former governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the 2023 elections, Peter Gregory Obi was now the new face and voice of the opposition and not the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.
The outspoken former governor noted that Obi, had overshadowed Atiku and emerged as the true voice of the opposition in the country.
He spoke in an incisive interview on Channels TV on Sunday..
Fayose, also urged Atiku to stop contesting elections in Nigeria, noting that, “when we complain about the APC and we don’t have a party and you can say you will do this and that, but ...Obi is the voice of the opposition now.

Fayose expressed doubt about the prospects of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in 2027, adding that the party stood little chance of defeating the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forthcoming presidential election.
He lamented the deepening leadership crisis that has gripped his party, insisting that PDP members now find themselves adrift, increasingly alienated and devoid of the cohesive identity that once united them.

“We no longer have a party,” he further noted, even as he reflected over the despair and uncertainty that has settled over the once-dominant political force.
”As I always say, we can defeat the APC but when we don’t have a party again, how can we defeat them?,” he further added.
