The suspect whose name was simply given as Saudat was alleged to have committed the crime at Farawa Community two days after their wedding on Sunday.
Tensions reportedly mounted in the community after news of the killing spread, prompting some youths to attempt mob action, before the police moved in quickly and arrested the woman before the situation degenerated further.
Police sources said that their wedding was
arranged by their families even as their was no emotional connection between the couple.
According to police sources, the deceased husband,, Salisu, initially objected to the marriage but was prodded to go ahead.
