Tinubu’s Speech at Kaduna Rally Shows He's Unaware Of His Environment – ADC

The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council, ADC- PCC, says that President Bola Tinubu's speech during the flag-off campaign for his re-election weekend in Kaduna, shows he has completely lost touch with the economic and social realities facing everyday Nigerians.

ADC'd Director of Strategic Communication Phrank Shaibu, spoke in an interview on Arise Television on Sunday, noting that Tinubu was completely detached from the problems facing the country and its citizens.
According to Shaibu, Tinubu, operated with a profound detachment from office, and acting as though he was unaware of the grave responsibilities that come with being the Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
The ADC also, faulted President Tinubu for blaming the opposition for hunger despite spending three and a half years in office.
Shaibu's words, “He has lost touch with reality. Bola is not aware of his environment. He is not aware of what Nigerians are going through. He’s not even aware that he’s president.
“I watched him (President), yesterday, and my eight-year-old son who was beside me said,’ What’s this man talking about? He has been in office for three and a half years. And he’s talking about hunger being created by the opposition. I think it is delusional.
“Bola Tinubu climbed the podium and announced that the subsidy was gone. And boom, what happened? Everything rose astronomically. The Nigerians cannot afford three square meals today.”
Shaibu further described Tinubu’s explanation of the country’s hunger crisis as delusional, adding that the president should take responsibility for the economic situation under his administration.
He further challenged Tinubu to compare the cost of living when he assumed office on May 29, 2023, with the current situation, stressing that Nigerians should not have been worse off under his leadership, citing the removal of petrol subsidy as a major factor behind high cost of living. According to the ADC, the removal of fuel subsidy triggered sharp increases in the cost of goods and services across the country, just as
alleged higher university fees had forced some students out of school, despite the establishment of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELUND.
The ADC furthermore, criticised Tinubu for continuing to blame the opposition,  despite the fact that the All Progressives Congress had governed the country for 11 and half years from the eight years regime of former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 till date.
The ADC stressed that Tinubu’s remarks on hunger raised questions about his understanding of the hardship experienced by ordinary Nigerians, noting that the president should be held accountable for his administration’s economic policies instead of his failures on political opponents.
